Strawberry picking begins Monday, May 15

Two Helpers While some variability in ripening from one row to the next is normal early in the season, 2017 may prove especially challenging to "early bird" pickers who will need to cover a little extra ground like last year. I would not recommend coming with the expectation of bringing home huge quantities of berries but if you need just a few fresh-from-the-farm berries, this "early bird" picking might be just right for you. The newer Flavorfest and Mayflower varieties look good but the Cabot seems extremely variable row to row with an unusual range of size. Current plans are to start picking on Monday, May 15 -- about 5 days earlier than last year! We will open at 7:30 AM and close when we run out of berries or 11:00 AM -- whichever comes first. Peak strawberry picking for 2017 will probably be May 22 thru June 6.
