About 1998 or 1999) Melanie and Katia wandered too near the water when feeding the geese and managed to get stuck in the mud.  One of them eventually managed to slip out of their shoes and go for help or they might still be "in the pond"  today.

The mud that they were standing on when this 2001 picture was taken in the fall raspberry catch basin has a little more solid footing fortunately.
